Spicy Watermelon Soup



Melons are so inexpensive right now, I simply cannot resist buying them.
One of my favourite things to do is chilled soup. Slightly spicy. Full of herbs.

Chili Watermelon Soup

1 small melon, seeded
2 garden cucumbers, peeled
1/4 cup red onion
Mint
Thai basil
1 lime (more if not so juicy...)
2 Tbsp chili oil (or more, to taste)

Blend it!

Fresh coriander leaves are also great for this soup, sadly, I did not have any on hand...

I would never have thought to make a watermelon soup, it looks pretty tasty! But I must say that after the carrot soup post and then this, I would LOVE to know where you got those bowls. Unless they're just propped at a weird angle or something, they're the coolest bowls ever and I want them!

I made this yesterday for girls night in and we found it a little spicy but incredibly refreshing.

Yummy! And my gf said "yeah! now I know what to do w/ my cukes!

Hmmmm, maybe I should write in bold in my bio section that I like spicy!!! I am probably a bit spicier than most people :)

Edana, are you in the Ottawa region? I actually got them in a Dollorama!! The one in Hull, in the Plateau.

No, I live in Massachusetts! I was hoping they were some expensive fancy brand that I could keep an eye on. Dollar store! Hah! The dollar stores around here are terrible; I'm jealous that you found such gems at yours. Oh well, I'm sure I'll find some dishes to fall in love with eventually!
