Do What You Love

No recipes, simply a quiet hello.
I am tired, exhausted.

Life was just going a bit too fast. Too noisy. Too much.
For a moment, I even forgot that I had to help my best friend prepare some food for a crowd tonight.
I am not a forgetful person. I just have too much on my plate. A big buffet plate.

But nothing could ever get in the way of helping friends.
No day is too long if you are doing what you love.
Even if you are really tired, you still are smiling.

Happy recovering - hope you get a bit of a rest! I know the feeling well... the life equivalent of eyes-bigger-than-stomach...

So true. It's so important to do what you love. But it's important to take it easy when you need to, too. I hope you're feeling a bit more rested now :.)

Really? :) Thank you! Haven't been writing much.

I ate a yummy dessert tonight and thought I'd send you a recipe if you'd like to try it. It's a native dessert. Egg custard. Leche flan is what we call it. Kinda really sweet but maybe you'll have fun making it! :)

Can't wait to try the flan! I love egg desserts.

I am a sucker for egg tarts in Chinatown, so delicate.

Cooking with you, with a big glass of bubbly (well ok, a few big glasses of bubbly) late into the night, even if we were both wrinkled down to our knees that night, was awesome!! Even tired you make everything look so easy ;))

you're the best...

Here's a recipe for the flan. http://pinoyfoodblog.com/cakes-pastries-desserts/leche-flan/

There are so many versions here but I think this should be yummy. :)

I hope you'll enjoy making it and I WISH I could taste it! Hahaha! It's my favorite dessert. We recently did a "tour" of restaurants to determine which one had the best leche flan. :)
